MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Russian navy said on Friday that one of its anti-submarine ships had fired artillery at a village by mistake, state RIA news agency reported.  The navy said no-one had been injured when a small anti-submarine ship on Thursday opened fire on a village in the Vyborg region of St Petersburg.

If this happened in America, John Edwards would already be suing.

JOLIET, Ill., May 29 (UPI) -- Authorities in Will County, Ill., passed a zoning ordinance limiting fortune telling businesses to commercial districts.  The Will County Board approved the ordinance, which covers businesses previously omitted from zoning laws, including "astrology, augury, card or tea reading, cartomancy, clairvoyance, clairaudience, crystal gazing, divination, magic mediumship, necromancy, palmistry, psychometry, phrenology, prophecy, spiritual reading, chakra reading, or any similar means," the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

I hope this clarifies things for those of you who plan to vacation in Joliet.

AUSTIN, Texas, May 29 (UPI) -- English is about to get its millionth word, a Texas wordsmith says.  Paul JJ Payack, president of the Global Language Monitor, has calculated the millionth word will join the language June 10, 2009, at 10:22 a.m. His clock is set to the time in Stratford-on-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, a man who gave many words currency in modern English.

How does a word join the language?  Is there an application fee?

(AP) A man who confessed to robbing a South Carolina bank in a message posted on MySpace has pleaded guilty. Federal prosecutors said Thursday that 27-year-old Joseph Northington of Roanoke, Va., will be sentenced later for using a firearm during a crime of violence.

The ACLU will argue that the MySpace posting was coerced by the computer.
